Ten days to go until I celebrate my anniversary with my new-found love – THAILAND. April 26, 2015 marked another milestone in my journey towards finding myself and feeding my lust for wonder.
This year, too, will pave the way for me to experience the Thai New Year Celebration – The Songkran Festival 2016. This festival is also known as the “Water Festival” where water pouring on streets are nothing but normal in said these days.
I always crave for adventure. I love to wander!
I love to go out and find myself drowning in the excitement of new experiences in new places with family and friends.
A week ago, some of my friends planned to go in an island away from the city. Well, the too much planning went in vain. With this bit of drama, my friends and I decided to go in more places just around Bangkok and vow to make the most of our stay in those places. Beyond the test of finances, time and distance, off we go!
Day 1 @ The Niche Condo ID Pool
It’s more fun when it’s FREE! One of the members in our church invited us to visit her place and allow us to experience swimming in this elite condo’s pool. After helping ourselves in the large slices of meaty pizzas and disregard-the-diet coke, we swam to our hearts content. Thanks, Tita Joyce!
Day 2 @ Sawan rotfai, Chatuchak Park
’cause it’s more fun when the reptile is with us posing for pics! Our second day went so much exciting and fulfilling after we went biking, picnicking, strolling, laughing and picture-taking!
This reptile up on the tree welcomed us…
Now, Ready, Gear, Go! The BIKERS!
The wheels brought us to some amazing spots in the park…
Took the wheels and visited the mangroves and the fish!
Pedaled once more and there went the reptile fever…
We went inside the newly built museum/library building…
In there, we played with lights! Series of silhouettes…
After three hours of long rides full of laughter… We took some rest under shades while waiting for the sound of “tweet..tweet..tweet”
Day 3 @ NICHADA PARK
The bikers on silhouettes, large fish, picture-taking and birthday partying. Loving the SUNSET! ❤
Our simple attempts of silhouettes…
Day 4 @ The NICHE ID Condo and Suvarnabhumi Airport
We don’t just need a one time shower of water, we drown ourselves on it. We’re HOT, oh no, it’s hot!
Wait up! my bruthaa is here! Overcoming the test of distance! GLORY TO THE HIGHEST!
Day 5 @ Robedillo’s Residence
Undecided where to go, we stayed all day at home watching movies (Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and Final Destination 3), eating (pizza) sumptuously, exchanging stories and laughter and playing scrabble and dominos. We’re so into these!
Day 6 @ Central World, Pratunam
Without getting wet, it’s not Songkran. So, wet me?! (The boys said) What?? lol
First Songkran Partying! Foam Partying, it is!
Taking a pose before we got wet and wild!
As we took every step towards the foam pool full of mob, the excitement of child inside was more aroused with these water playing mob.
So let me drown this childish thingy inside me into the foams!
More of foams! More of Mob with the foam!
Some UV Light rays protection from these pretty girls…
After the child inside me got tired, we decided to go home. However, water splashing wasn’t over yet.
More water splashing while on the bus with the people on the streets waiting for buses with people inside.
Back home, movie marathon (August Rush, Lucy and my college years’ short films) was never outdated!
The feeling of “I can’t get enough of Songkran chill and escapades” grew deeper as the night took the reign.
I’ll always be thankful to my Creator for giving me these experiences! Words are never enough to contain every single ounce of happiness I have within. The photographs above may help.
Songkran Fest 2016 — SEIZED!
Better experiences on travels await when it’s unplanned! Indeed!
